It’s Quirke by name, quirk by nature….

Hello! I’m Lucy Quirke.

That’s right, that’s Quirke as in “quirky”, and I couldn’t have picked a better name if I’d tried.

I started out working for a marketing agency in a little town in Yorkshire back in 2017, where I got the chance to work for a real assortment of businesses. From beauty brands to a baby swim school, solicitors, stationers, tree surgeons, hair extensionists and a fabulous charity, I’ll never let it be said that I’m not up for marketing something different! I’ve worked for butchers, bakers, but sadly no candlestick makers!

Cut to 2020, I settled into a new job with one of North Yorkshire’s most outstanding artists. Before I knew it, the business began to evolve and I was able to take part in the planning and creation of a thriving online membership that teaches aspiring artists how to draw. In under three years, the number of members increased more than fivefold (and counting!).

Here, I saw how amazing online teaching can be. With the help of courses and memberships, people are building the most amazing communities, sharing their passion and knowledge with like-minded people and creating businesses that allow themselves to live the life of their dreams.

So, I’m making it my mission to help as many online educators, no matter what stage of their journey they’re at, to build and grow their teaching platforms so that everyone, whether they’re teacher or student, can start living a more fulfilled life.

Well, the quick-fire version is this: I’m animal mad, can crochet up a frenzy, find endless entertainment in my weird and wonderful family and spend my spare time writing odd comic strips to make my dad laugh.

If you want the longer version…

Family is the most important thing in the world to me and last year I became the proud aunty to the world’s most adorable nephew, who we affectionately refer to as “little sausage”. The reason? No reason needed.

I am a self-confessed book hoarder. I’d love to pretend I’m an avid reader too, but I’ve got to the point in my life (at the ripe old age of 27) where if I start reading on the sofa in the evening, I immediately fall asleep.

My life isn’t complete without a pet, and over the years I’ve had three four-legged cats, one three-legged cat, two rabbits, two guinea pigs, five rats, three hamsters and one lizard. The goal is to one day own a greyhound named Raymond, but for the time being, I’m making do with a hamster named Susan.

The two things that I am most proud of from this year vary drastically. 1) I helped an online membership welcome over 1000 new members and bring in more than £100,000 in revenue in one launch, and 2) I made a hilarious dress-up paper doll from scratch, complete with outfit changes and fully branded packaging for my dad’s birthday (he’s 62, but has the heart (and sometimes maturity!) of a child).

Over the past 4 years, I have seen how amazing online teaching can be. With the help of courses and memberships, people are building the most amazing communities, sharing their passion and knowledge with like-minded people and creating businesses that allow themselves to live the life of their dreams.

So, I’m making it my mission to help as many online educators, no matter what stage of their journey they’re at,

to build and grow their teaching platforms so that everyone, whether they’re teacher or student, can start living a more fulfilled life.
